Quad Safari from Alanya and Konaklı — Your Own Quad, and a Lesson before You Ride

The Experience

A quad is a different animal from a buggy. You sit on it rather than in it, every rut arrives through your arms, and the dust goes wherever it likes. We run both machines out of the same hills, so take this one if you want the ride to feel like yours alone rather than shared with a passenger seat. Pickup is from hotels in central Alanya and in Konakli, and the safari goes out twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, so it fits either side of a beach afternoon. Allow around three hours in total. The minibus climbs into the green foothills of the Taurus range, and a short driving lesson and full safety briefing come before any engine does. Then the convoy strings out along backcountry trails: pine forest, shallow water crossings, bumpy dirt and gentle climbs, with a ridge stop where the Mediterranean lies far below. The finish is a water break that turns into a splash fight, which is also the fastest way to lose the trail dust. In the price: return transfer, quad hire with fuel for the whole route, helmet and dust mask, guide, lesson, water stops and basic accident insurance. Riding solo instead of doubling up costs extra, as do lunch, drinks, photographs and tips. Drivers are 18 and over and need to look confident on the practice loop; younger guests ride as passengers with an adult. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
