Rafting the Köprülü Canyon from Belek: 14 Kilometres of Class II–III Water

The Experience

Read the age line first, because it decides everything: this Belek departure takes paddlers between 10 and 60. If your party includes younger children, one of our other canyon days will suit you better. We run the whole Antalya coast ourselves, so there is no reason to squeeze anyone into the wrong boat. Everyone else gets a proper mountain day. The coach collects you at your Belek hotel in the morning, climbs out of the resort belt into the pine forest of Köprülü Canyon National Park, and stops at the base camp on the Köprü. Kit goes on — helmet, buoyancy jacket, paddle, wetsuit — a licensed guide takes the stern of each boat, and roughly 14 kilometres of grade 2-3 water does the rest. Expect frothing chutes, the Roman arch of the Oluk Bridge overhead, and green pools deep enough to jump into. Lunch is a buffet at long tables beside the water, and the coach has you back in Belek by the end of the afternoon. Rafting itself runs three to four hours; the whole day, door to door, is about eight. Adults €30, and a 10- or 11-year-old qualifies for the reduced child rate. We are the operator, so nothing is paid in advance: you settle on the day and may cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before. Drinks, tips, river photography, water shoes and any zipline, buggy or quad add-on are the only extras.
