Your Side Quad Safari Questions, Answered by the People Who Run It
Price comes first, always: how much does the quad safari cost? That is what guests ask at the office, over WhatsApp and at the base station before the briefing. The answer and a dozen more follow, all reflecting how our Side Quad ATV Safari operates.
How much does the quad safari cost?
€25 per adult, €15 per child, infants free. The price includes hotel transfer, the safety briefing, a supervised test drive, one and a half to two hours of riding, and use of our showers and changing cabins. Goggles, bandanas, food, drinks and professional photos are optional extras. Full details in our price breakdown.
Do I pay when I book?
No. Reservation is free and you pay on the day of the tour. There is no deposit and no online payment step. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the tour, so booking early costs you nothing even if your plans change.
Do you pick up from my hotel?
Yes, round-trip transfer from your hotel to our safari station is included in the price. Pickup from Side hotels is typically in the morning or afternoon depending on your session, and your exact pickup is confirmed personally when you book, so there is no guessing on the day.
What times does the tour run?
We run three sessions daily — morning, late morning and afternoon — all year round, which makes it easy to fit the safari around beach days and other plans. Tell us which part of the day suits you and we will confirm your slot and pickup details personally at booking.
How long is the whole experience?
Plan for roughly four hours door to door: transfer from your hotel, the safety briefing and test drive, one and a half to two hours of actual riding, then time to shower and change before the transfer back.
Can children come?
Yes, and they love it. The minimum age to drive a quad solo is 16. Younger children from age 6 can ride as passengers, securely belted, with a parent or another adult driving. Our family guide covers how this works in practice.
Do I need any riding experience?
No experience needed. Our certified instructors give every group a full briefing on ATV operation and track rules, and everyone completes a supervised test drive before heading out. If riding does not click for you during the test drive, you can switch to a passenger seat: it is about whether you can control the machine confidently, nothing more.
Is it safe? What safety measures do you take?
Safety is the non-negotiable part of our operation. Helmets are strictly mandatory on every ride, the briefing is comprehensive, and nobody goes on the route without passing the supervised test drive first. Guests with back or neck issues should choose the passenger seat rather than driving. If you have a medical concern, message us before booking and we will give you a straight answer.
Will I really get that muddy?
Yes, happily, gloriously muddy. The track involves significant amounts of mud, water and dust; that is the product. Wear old, dark clothing and fully closed shoes, and bring a complete change of clothes and a towel. Our base has free showers and changing cabins so you return to your hotel clean. The full checklist is in our what to bring guide.
What is the River Side Track option?
Alongside the standard Off-Road Forest Track, we offer an exclusive River Side Track focused on water crossings and splash fun. It is priced differently from the forest route, contact our team on WhatsApp during your reservation and we will quote the exact difference before you decide.
What happens in bad weather?
The safari runs all year, and a bit of rain honestly improves the mud. If conditions ever make the track unsafe, we contact you, and with free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour, and no money taken until tour day, you are never out of pocket. We would rather move your ride than run a bad one.
Do I need to bring documents?
The person driving the quad needs to show ID at the base. Passengers do not need anything. As for whether you can drive: it is skill-based, anyone 16 or over who completes the briefing and handles the test drive confidently drives; anyone who prefers not to rides as a passenger.
How does this compare to other Side excursions?
The quad safari is our pick for guests who want raw, hands-on adventure in a half-day slot. If you are building a full holiday itinerary, our complete Side excursions guide lays out everything the area offers so you can mix adrenaline days with slower ones.
