The Experience
Ask for it and the whole programme shifts into the evening, so the harbour comes back into view under a red sky. That flexibility is the point of taking the boat rather than a seat on it: about six hours off Side, up to twenty-five people, and a crew answering to your group only. Boarding is at the harbour by steps. Worth knowing before you commit, because it makes the yacht unsuitable for wheelchair users. Once clear of the moorings the coast opens out, the Temple of Apollo and the old-town rooftops standing up on the skyline, and the captain works between sheltered bays for swimming. Somewhere in the middle the crew serves the meal you chose when you booked — lunch or dinner, depending on when you sail. The fuel, the harbour dues, the insurance and the crew's work all sit inside €640. Drinks do not: there is a bar aboard, and a single bottle of your own spirits is allowed on. Decoration for a proposal or a birthday costs extra, as does hotel transfer, though we can arrange one. The boat is ours, so if the sea turns the captain postpones or cancels at no charge rather than sail badly. Nothing is taken in advance — you pay on board on the day, and cancelling is free up to 24 hours ahead.
