The Experience
Two big things happen on this day and the order is deliberately left open. Your guide looks at how the park is filling up and decides whether the group takes the river first or the forest first. The point is to keep you away from the crowd rather than to obey a timetable, and either way the whole seven hours are spent inside Köprülü Canyon National Park instead of driving between two separate bookings. The river half is a 12-kilometre descent with a professional in every boat. The kit is CE-certified, jackets, helmets, paddles and the boats themselves, and one briefing at the start covers both activities. The quad half hands the controls to you: riverbank track first, then the pine forest, which smells exactly as you would hope and leaves everyone the same colour by the end. Driving is a question of ability. Anyone who would rather not take the handlebars rides along instead, and nobody is talked into it. Lunch at the riverside restaurant is included, along with insurance for the day and the return transfer from Side and the hotels around it. Water shoes, a bandana for the dusty section and any drinks are yours to sort out, and nothing further is asked for at the base. Adults €30, children €18. You finish this one wet and dusty at the same time, so pack a full change. Payment is due on the day.
