The Experience
Four things, eight hours, one national park. This is the biggest adventure day we run out of Side, and it is worth being honest about that word: it is full, and it moves. Rafting opens it. Certified instructors, helmets, life jackets and paddles, and a route that alternates icy rapids with slow stretches beneath the canyon walls and the old Roman bridges. From the river you go up to the zipline platform, where the operators harness you for a flight of between 400 and 800 metres over the same water and the forest on either side of it. Then forty minutes of buggy on the dusty and muddy tracks of the Taurus, before a riverside lunch that is included and, by that point, thoroughly earned. The finale is not an activity at all. Tazı Canyon, the Valley of Wisdom, is a viewpoint with cliffs falling as much as 400 metres, and your job there is to stand still, look, and photograph. Adults €49, children €29, infants free. The Tazı entrance fee is the single cost sitting outside our price and is paid at the gate; drinks, the base team's photographs and souvenirs are extra as well, and everything else is covered. We would steer pregnant guests, very young children and anyone with a serious back or heart condition towards a quieter tour. Pay on the day.
