Tandem flights over Alanya run daily all year, weather permitting, so the honest answer to the season question is that no month is closed to you — but the settled, clear conditions of late spring and early autumn give you the best odds of flying on the day you booked. On the time of day: our programme is a morning one. You are collected from your hotel after breakfast time, everyone registers together, and the group rides up to the launch hill as one.
Which means the more useful question is not which month but how many chances have you given yourself.
The flight, and what is fixed regardless of season
You launch from a hill roughly 700 metres above the coast with a licensed tandem pilot and land directly on the sand of Cleopatra Beach. The whole outing takes about three hours and costs €75 per adult. Equipment, the pre-flight briefing and insurance are included, and a backup safety parachute is carried on every flight. No experience is required — the pilot flies, you sit in your own harness and look at the Mediterranean.
Hotel pickup across the Alanya area is included, from Kestel and Mahmutlar through Oba, Konaklı, Avsallar and Okurcalar; you can also meet us at the base office. Staying further west? Departures with round-trip transfer are available from Side, Belek and Antalya for a supplement. Pickup is at your hotel's security gate or directly in front of the building.
Why the wind decides, and what happens when it says no
Paragliding is the one activity where the schedule is genuinely not ours to control. Flights only go ahead when the pilot judges the air safe, and the pilot's call is final. If conditions are unsuitable your flight is held to the next day, rescheduled to a date that suits you, or refunded — that is the standing rule, in every month.
This is why the practical advice matters more than the seasonal advice: book your flight for the early part of your holiday, not the last day. A flight bumped on day two has a week of runway behind it. A flight bumped on the morning of your departure is a refund and a story about the time you almost went paragliding. Since reservation is free, you pay on the tour day, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before, booking early costs you nothing at all.
The seasons, plainly
Spring and autumn
The pick. Air tends to be more settled, the light over the coast is clean rather than hazy, and there is far less competition for slots. If you can choose your month and the flight is a priority, come in one of these.
High summer
The busiest period and perfectly flyable, but two things are worth knowing: a hot coast makes for livelier air as the day builds — another reason our programme is a morning one — and summer dates fill, so a same-week booking is a gamble you do not need to take when reserving is free.
Winter
Flights are listed daily year-round, and a clear winter day over Alanya is a spectacular flight with nobody else in the sky. The risk is not cold, it is weather systems: more days get called off, so leave more slack in the schedule than you would in June.
Who should not book a tandem flight
This is not suitable for anyone with a medical condition that prevents flying, and you are responsible for declaring your own health status honestly — the pilot cannot assess what you do not tell them. Age and weight limits apply and are confirmed when you book; anyone under 18 needs signed parental consent, and children join only subject to safety regulations, a weight check and the pilot's approval.
Skip it, too, if you cannot live with a last-minute weather call. Some people find a rescheduled flight an easy shrug; others spend the rest of the holiday annoyed. If you are the second kind, and your dates are tight, a boat-based day is the safer use of the slot.
Two small honest notes: photos and video are taken during the flight and offered for purchase after you land on the beach — nothing is included in the price. And a female pilot is available on request for €20 per person, paid in cash on the spot.
Book the sky, or the sea
