Green Canyon Day Trip from Belek: Eight Hours in the Cool of the Taurus Mountains
The Experience
Belek is flat, green and thoroughly manicured. An hour or so inland the ground stands up on end: pine-covered rock rising straight out of the Oymapınar reservoir, with nothing on the water but the sound of your own boat. The contrast is the whole appeal. The day runs about eight hours from your hotel door and back to it, in an air-conditioned vehicle, out through citrus groves and forest towards Manavgat. Once aboard, the captain works along the reservoir and anchors in sheltered coves where the turquoise water is cold enough to make you laugh on the way in. Nobody has to swim. There is an open sundeck, and guests who prefer to stay dry generally do exactly that with no sense of missing out. Lunch is grilled fresh on board and served without hurry while the gorge slides past. Adults pay €42 and children €25; infants under four come free, and four to eleven year olds take the reduced fare. That covers the transfer both ways, the cruise, a local guide and the compulsory boat and travel insurance. Drinks aboard, fishing and other optional extras, photo and video service and tips are not included, which we say now rather than later. Wear shoes you can board and walk short distances in, pack swimwear, a towel and sun protection, and settle the bill on the day. Cancelling is free up to 24 hours before.

Where does the Green Canyon boat tour depart from?+
We collect you directly from your Belek hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and drive inland to the Oymapinar reservoir near Manavgat, where the cruise begins. Your driver is waiting again at the end to bring you back.
How long does the day last?+
Plan for a full day of roughly 8 hours door to door. That includes the scenic transfer each way, the canyon cruise itself, several swim stops and a relaxed lunch on board.
Can I swim in the canyon?+
Absolutely. The captain anchors in calm, sheltered coves where you can dive straight off the deck into the cool, deep-green water. Non-swimmers are welcome to stay comfortable on the sundeck.
