The Experience

Ask for the Green Canyon and this is the trip most people mean. Four and a half hours are spent on the water itself, longer afloat than most canyon runs manage, crossing the reservoir above the Oymapınar Dam between walls of pine near Manavgat. Be clear about what kind of day it is. This is a lake, not a river. The water is sheltered and flat, there is no white water anywhere on it, and the boat is a calm one rather than a party boat. If you came to the coast wanting rapids, this is the wrong booking, and we will happily point you at the right one instead. Pickup depends on where you are staying. Side and the Manavgat area run every day; Alanya runs daily through the summer season; Belek and Antalya go on Mondays and Thursdays. Your time is set by your hotel and confirmed with you personally once you have booked. The fare of €33, or €20 for children aged three to eleven, covers the cruise, a lunch prepared fresh and served aboard, full passenger insurance, guiding and the air-conditioned transfer both ways. Every drink is extra, so carry a little cash. Life jackets are aboard and swimming is optional; the lake holds fresh mountain water and feels colder than the sea. Bring swimwear, a towel, sun protection and a camera. You pay us on the day.
