The Suluada boat tour runs the same honest formula from the first sailing of the season to the last: the drive west to Adrasan, the mid-morning sail-away, two bay swims, lunch cooked on board, the white beach and the Love Cave, home by evening. What changes is everything around it: the light, the crowds, the booking pressure, and how the sun feels on a bright white-sand island. Here is the season as we see it from the deck, so you can pick your moment.
The constants, whatever the month
- The price does not move with the calendar: €40 per adult, €30 per child aged 4–10, infants up to 3 free.
- It stays a 10-hour day from hotel pickup to your return, with the sail-away from Adrasan in the morning and the boat back at the port in the afternoon.
- Departures are listed daily through the season, and the boat carries at most 30 guests.
- Lunch is included: grilled fish or chicken with pasta or rice, Turkish mezes, salad, then fruit and Turkish tea.
- Reservation is free, you pay on the tour day, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before.
The early hotel start is part of the deal in every month: your exact pickup time is confirmed personally the evening before, so there is no guessing and no waiting in a lobby wondering.
Early summer: the quiet opening
The first weeks of the season are the connoisseur's pick. The bays on the way out are at their emptiest, the island beach leaves you room to choose your spot rather than defend it, and the sea is at its freshest, bracing on the first jump, wonderful once you are in. Light is kind for photographs, and booking a day or two ahead is usually enough. If your priority is seeing the Turkish Maldives at its most private, come early.
July and August: the peak
High summer is when Suluada is busiest and most in demand: this is our bestselling boat day for a reason, and the reason is visible from the bow. It is also when the tour's early rhythm earns its keep: sailing mid-morning means you take the first swim stop while the day is still gentle, and by the time the sun is at its most serious you are either in the water or at lunch under way.
Handling the heat and the crowds
- The island has no shop. Whatever you want on the beach, it comes with you: the onboard bar sells drinks at your own cost, but there is nothing to buy once you step ashore.
- The reflection is real. White sand plus turquoise water bounce the light fiercely; sunglasses and high-SPF sunscreen are essentials here, not suggestions, along with a hat and towel.
- The swim stops are the cooling system. Two bays before the island, free swimming time at Suluada itself, and one final dip on the way back to wash the day off.
- Reserve several days ahead. The boat is capped at 30 guests, and peak dates do fill. Since reserving costs nothing and cancelling is free up to 24 hours before, there is no reason to gamble on the night before.
September and October: the long golden tail
Late season is the local favourite, and we say that as locals. The sea holds its warmth long after the beaches begin to empty, the light turns soft and photogenic, and the bays feel closer to how the early explorers of this coast must have found them. Couples in particular tend to come back from an autumn sailing looking smug. Departures are still listed daily, and short-notice booking becomes realistic again, though our own FAQ still recommends reserving in advance, whatever the month, because this tour is simply popular.
Booking-ahead advice, straight
The system is built so that booking early costs you nothing: free reservation, payment on the tour day, free cancellation up to 24 hours before. So in practice: in the July–August peak, reserve as soon as your holiday dates are fixed; in early and late season, a few days' notice is normally comfortable. Either way you risk nothing by locking in the day you actually want.

Packing changes surprisingly little through the season — see what to bring and wear — and the money side is laid out plainly in our price breakdown. Undecided between Suluada and our other boat days?
