The Experience
Six hours is the shortest of our dive days, which is precisely the appeal for some people. You are not signing away a whole holiday day, and nobody at Kumköy has to sit through more boat than they wanted. Pickup covers hotels in Kumköy and the resorts around it, and the ride to the marina is short, with the Gulf of Antalya opening up alongside. Before anyone gets wet, the certified instructor runs the basic training: the safety rules, how the equipment behaves, what to do if something feels wrong. Mask, snorkel, fins and tank all come from us. Then two dives at 5 to 10 metres, a range that works for a complete beginner and still gives an experienced diver something to look at. Rocky reefs, shaded caverns, silver shoals moving through the sunlight. Two descents rather than one is the whole point: the first one you spend learning, the second you spend looking. On deck there is lunch and drinking water, and time to swim before the boat heads back. Anyone in your party who does not dive can come along, watch and swim. Two conditions attach to the diving: you need to be able to swim, and diving is out with heart, ear or respiratory conditions, or after alcohol. Drinks, extra snacks, further dives, underwater photography and tips sit outside the price. Adults €43, children 4-11 reduced, infants free, paid on the tour day, cancellable free 24 hours ahead.
