Green Canyon Questions, Answered Straight
Where do you pick up from? What does it cost? Those two reach us by message, by phone and at hotel lobbies along the coast every week, about our Green Canyon Boat Tour and Catamaran Tour. Short answers follow, from the people who run the boats.
Where do you pick up from?
Hotel pickup can be arranged from the Side and Manavgat area every day, from Alanya every day in the summer season, and from Belek and Antalya on Mondays and Thursdays. Tell us where you're staying when you reserve and we'll confirm your pickup.
What time does the tour start?
Pickup times vary by hotel and area, so we don't print a clock time that would be wrong for half our guests. When you book, we confirm your exact pickup personally the evening before, you'll know precisely when to be in your lobby.
How long is the tour?
The classic boat tour is 4.5 hours on the water, with swimming stops and lunch served on board. The catamaran tour is 2.5 hours: the easygoing version for guests who don't want to give up a whole holiday day.
How much does it cost?
Both tours: €33 per adult (ages 12–99) and €18 per child (ages 3–11). No booking fee, no hidden extras. The full arithmetic — including a family example — is in our Green Canyon price guide.
Do I have to pay in advance?
No. Reserving is free, and you pay on the day of the tour. We're a local operator selling our own trips: we don't need your money before you've even seen the boat.
What if my plans change?
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the tour. Message us, no interrogation, no fee. Most guests simply move to another day of their holiday instead, both tours run daily.
Is it suitable for children?
Very. The water is calm and sheltered, there's deck space to relax, and children aged 3–11 join at a reduced rate. Travelling with a baby under 3? Mention it when you reserve and we'll confirm the arrangements personally. For a fuller picture, read our first-timer and family guide.
Do we have to swim?
Not at all. The swimming stops are the highlight for many, but they're entirely optional, plenty of guests stay on deck with the view. If you do swim, know the reservoir is mountain-fed and refreshingly cool, not bath-warm.
I get seasick: is this trip a bad idea?
Honestly, it's one of the best boat trips on the coast for you. Green Canyon is a vast dam reservoir, not open sea: the water is calm and sheltered between the canyon walls the whole way. There's no swell to speak of.
What happens if the weather turns?
The canyon is sheltered, so weather disrupts this tour far less than open-sea trips. In the rare case a tour has to change because of conditions, we contact you directly: you can move to another day or cancel free of charge. You're never left out of pocket for the sky's decisions.
Boat tour or catamaran: which should I choose?
Same canyon, same prices, different rhythm. Choose the 4.5-hour boat tour if you want the full day out, more time on the water, more swimming, lunch on board. Choose the 2.5-hour catamaran if you're fitting the canyon around a beach afternoon, travelling with young children, or simply prefer a gentler dose.
What should I bring?
Swimwear, towel, sun cream, hat, a light layer for the mountain air, and a dry change of clothes. That's it: the full list, with local reasoning, is in what to bring and wear for Green Canyon.
How does Green Canyon fit into a Riviera holiday?
It's the mountain-and-emerald-water day in a week of beaches: a change of scenery without a long haul, since it sits just inland from Manavgat. To see how it pairs with the coast's other excursions, browse our complete local guide to Side excursions.
Still Wondering About Something?
Ask us directly: we answer as the operator, not a call centre reading a script. And remember: reserving costs nothing, you pay on tour day, and you can cancel free up to 24 hours before. There's no risk in simply securing your seats while you decide. If the question is really about timing, the season guide is the shorter answer.
