Alanya rewards visitors who look beyond the beach, and this guided city tour is built to show you why. Your day starts gently: a morning pickup from your hotel in Alanya or the surrounding area, then a short, scenic drive toward the great rocky peninsula that dominates the skyline.
First comes Alanya Castle, the 13th-century Seljuk fortress crowning the headland. From its ramparts the whole coast opens up — both bays, the harbour, the red rooftops and the famous Red Tower standing guard by the water. Your guide fills the walls with stories of sultans, shipwrights and pirates while you take in some of the finest panoramas on the Turkish Riviera. Then, instead of driving back down, you ride the cable car from the castle hill toward Damlataş, watching the coastline slide past beneath you.
At Damlataş Beach there is free time to swim and sunbathe; if you like, you can also step into the famous Damlataş Cave nearby (entrance fee payable locally). Next, the perspective flips: a one-hour boat trip carries you around the castle peninsula, showing Alanya's famous landmarks from the water, with dolphins making an occasional appearance. Lunch follows at a riverside restaurant on the Dim River, where tables sit right over the cool flowing water — a beloved local tradition.
The day winds down in the Alanya bazaar with time to hunt for spices, textiles and souvenirs before we drive you back to your hotel. The tour runs on set days each week, and booking is refreshingly simple: reserve free of charge, pay on the tour day, and cancel free up to 24 hours ahead if plans change.
