Up One of the World's Longest Cable Car Lines to the 2,365 m Summit of Mount Tahtalı

The Experience
Mount Tahtalı — known in antiquity as Olympos of Lycia — rises almost straight out of the sea inside the Beydağları Coastal National Park, in the Kemer region of the Antalya coast. The cable car that climbs it is an attraction in its own right: a 4,359-metre line, rated among the longest in the world, carrying you from pine forest to bare alpine summit at 2,365 m in a ride of around 10–11 minutes. Your day starts gently. We collect you from your hotel in the Kemer area in the morning, after breakfast time (in high season a second, early-afternoon departure is also available from Kemer). A scenic drive of about an hour brings you to the lower station, where your round-trip ticket is already covered. Then the ride. The cabins are fully enclosed, stable and generously sized — they can carry up to 80 guests — so even travellers who are slightly wary of heights tend to relax within the first minute. As you climb, the view unfolds in layers: the turquoise curve of the coastline, dense green forest, then grey limestone ridges of the Taurus range. At the summit, take your free time at your own pace. Walk the viewing terraces for a full 360° panorama, warm up with a drink at the summit café and restaurant, and collect the photographs of your holiday — on clear days the view stretches far along the Mediterranean shore. One practical tip: the top is usually 10–15°C cooler than the beach, so a light jacket earns its place in your bag even in August. This is an excursion with no physical demands at all. There is no hiking and no stairs to conquer; the ride is wheelchair friendly and suits every generation, from toddlers (under-3s travel free) to grandparents. The system was built by the Doppelmayr Garaventa Group to European safety standards, and the weather is monitored continuously — in strong wind, rides are paused and you are offered a new date or a refund. With Atalay Tours your reservation is free, you pay in euros on the tour day, and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before departure. Book the summit — the mountain does the climbing.
