Every operator on this coast will tell you their spa day is unmissable. We would rather tell you honestly who our Side Turkish Bath & Spa Day actually suits, when the bigger package is worth it, and when you might be happier spending your slow day somewhere else in our own programme. We are the operator, not a reseller, so the advice below is the same advice we give in person.
The short answer
- First hamam, or watching the family budget: the Classic Hamam Ritual, from €20 per adult, is the complete traditional experience with nothing missing.
- Couples and committed massage lovers: the Premium Spa Day adds a full massage in your chosen style and runs about an hour longer.
- Relaxation for you means open air, not steam: consider one of our calm boat days instead, real prices further down.
- Thrill-seekers: the smartest move is adventure first, hamam the day after.
Classic Hamam Ritual: the first-timer's choice
The classic package follows the sequence Turkish bathers have trusted for centuries. You warm up in the sauna and steam room, then move to the heated marble for a traditional kese peeling and foam massage, twenty minutes that leave your skin softer than any beach day ever will. A thirty-minute massage with natural aloe vera gel follows, and a face mask and a session with the famous doctor fish round it off.
Pricing is refreshingly simple: €20 per adult, with children joining from age six at the same rate and infants up to three going free. Hotel pickup and drop-off across the Side resorts and travel insurance are included, and the core session is listed at two hours, with transfers, plan a relaxed half day.
Who it suits: first-timers who want the genuine ritual rather than a hotel-spa imitation; families who want a memorable afternoon without a memorable bill; and anyone squeezing wellness in between beach mornings and evenings out.
Premium Spa Day: for guests who came to be pampered
The premium package keeps the same hamam core — sauna, steam, peeling and foam — and builds on it: a full massage in the style you choose, with Balinese and Thai among the options, a fruit plate served with tea, a face mask, and a personal digital safebox for your valuables. It also runs about an hour longer than the classic ritual, so no stage feels hurried.
Who it suits: couples making an occasion of it; guests who judge a holiday by the quality of its massages; and anyone who tried the classic ritual on a previous trip and wants the longer, deeper version. Note that additional massage types beyond your chosen one are not included, and neither are drinks: our hamam prices guide itemises exactly what your money buys in each package.
Hamam or a different kind of slow day?
We sell adrenaline all week, so we recognise the guests who come to us wanting the opposite. If your ideal recovery day happens outdoors, compare:
- Green Canyon Catamaran Cruise from Side, from €33. Calm water on a mountain reservoir, swim stops and long quiet stretches on deck. Choose this if scenery relaxes you more than treatments do.
- Side Relax Boat Tour, from €70. A deliberately calm, no-party day at sea. Choose it if you want the whole day slowed down, not just half of it.
- Side Horse Riding, from €40. A guided pine-forest and beach ride, gentle activity rather than passive pampering.
Against those, the hamam holds two strong cards: at €20 it is the least expensive full reset on this list, and it is the only one that takes half a day rather than a whole one: you can be scrubbed, massaged and back at the pool while the boat guests are still at lunch.
The thrill-seeker's route
If you are here for white water, do it in this order: book our Köprülü Canyon rafting tour from Side — also from €20 — and reserve the hamam for the following day. A kese peeling and a thirty-minute aloe vera massage on shoulders that paddled twelve kilometres of canyon may be the best-spent €20 of the whole week.
Practical points that settle it for some guests
- Swimwear is worn throughout, and towels and the traditional pestemal wrap are provided, modesty is never an issue.
- Traditional hamams have separate sections, and a female attendant can be requested, just mention it when booking.
- The massage stages are designed for adults; tell us the ages of any children when booking and we will confirm the right setup.
- The hamam is not suitable for guests with heart problems, and anyone sensitive to heat or humidity, or pregnant, should check with a doctor first.
- Eat only a light meal beforehand, and know that tipping the attendants is customary but entirely optional.
Booking, the local way
Whichever package you choose, the terms are the same: reservation is free, you pay on the day, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start. Air-conditioned pickup covers the Side resort areas, Kumköy, Evrenseki, Çolaklı, Gündoğdu, Sorgun and Titreyengöl among them, with flexible time slots through the day; we confirm your exact slot after you book.
Still weighing it up? Our hamam FAQ answers the questions guests are sometimes shy to ask, and our complete Side excursions guide shows where a spa day fits into a full week on this coast. When to slot it in is a separate read.
