Some theatres host shows; Aspendos becomes one. As dusk settles over the ancient stage, you take your place on stone tiers that have watched performances since the 2nd century AD — and then the Fire of Anatolia ensemble erupts onto the stage to tell the story of Troy without a single spoken word.
Your evening begins gently. In the late afternoon or early evening our driver meets you at your hotel — pickups run across the Antalya region, from Lara and Kundu to Konyaaltı and the Old Town, with sister departures from Side, Belek, Alanya and Kemer — and a cool, non-smoking coach carries you to Aspendos. There is time to admire the theatre before you head inside and the lights go down.
What follows is one of Türkiye's most celebrated productions: thirteen scenes choreographed by Mustafa Erdoğan, more than a hundred dancers, live rhythm, dramatic lighting and bursts of flame carrying Homer's legend from the first war drums to the fall of the city. Because the storytelling is entirely visual and musical, every nationality in the audience follows every moment — no translation needed.
When the final bow is taken, you regroup at the coach and roll back along the coast, reaching your hotel late in the evening. A few honest notes: the theatre is open-air with stone steps and uneven surfaces, so sure-footed shoes help, and guests with mobility concerns should message us before booking. Evenings can turn cool, so pack a light layer. In the current season the show runs on selected evenings (Tuesdays, early August to the end of September), and an optional VIP section directly in front of the stage can be added per person.
Reserve your seats free of charge, pay on the day, and cancel free up to 24 hours beforehand — the legend has waited three thousand years; it will not mind a little flexibility.
