What to Wear and Bring on a Side Buggy Safari
Let's be direct: on our Side Buggy Safari, getting dirty is not a risk, it is the whole point. The forest track is dusty, rutted, and muddy, and there are water-splash stops along the way. Guests who dress for it have the time of their lives; anything you would hate to see splattered should stay in the wardrobe. Here is the packing list we give our own friends.
The golden rule: dark, old clothes
Wear dark-coloured clothes you will not mourn: an old T-shirt and shorts are perfect. Dust and mud will find every fibre, and some stains simply do not come out. Leave the holiday outfits at the hotel; this is the one excursion in Side where looking scruffy at the start is a sign you did your homework.
What to wear
- Old T-shirt and shorts or light trousers in dark colours.
- Closed shoes you can get filthy, old trainers or water shoes beat flip-flops, which slip off on the pedals and offer no protection from flying grit.
- Sunglasses or goggles, the track kicks up serious dust. Purpose-made protective goggles are sold at our base if you want full coverage; sunglasses handle the passenger seat fine.
- A bandana or buff for your nose and mouth, especially if you are driving behind other buggies. Bring one from home or buy one at the facility.
- Sunscreen applied before you arrive: the Antalya sun works on you even through the dust cloud.
What to pack in your bag
- A complete change of clothes: this is the single most important item. The buggy is dusty and the route includes water-splash stops, so you will want dry, clean clothes for the ride home.
- A towel for after your shower at the base.
- Swimwear worn underneath if you would rather rinse off in it, practical for the wetter sections.
- ID for whoever drives, required at the base for the driver.
- A little cash if you might want goggles, a bandana, drinks, or the photo package, those are the only optional extras, as our prices guide spells out.
- A sealed bag for your phone, or better, leave valuables at the hotel. Mud, dust, and electronics are old enemies. Our team shoots photo and video on the track, so you do not need to risk your own camera to bring home proof.
What you do not need to bring
Guests regularly over-pack, so for the record: no experience or special gear is needed. The briefing, the supervised test drive, and the safety equipment are all part of the tour, and our instructors sort out everything at the base. Hotel pickup and drop-off is included too, so you are not navigating anywhere with a rucksack full of kit.
Showers and changing cabins: why the change of clothes works
Our base has designated shower areas and changing cabins, free to use after the ride. The routine our regulars follow: ride hard, get gloriously muddy, shower, change into the spare clothes, and step onto the transfer looking like nothing happened. That is why the change of clothes matters more than anything else on this list, the facility handles the rest.
A note for the River Side track
If you upgrade to our River Side route, water entries and river crossings on top of the mud, treat "you will get wet" as a promise, not a possibility. Swimwear under your clothes and a proper towel go from recommended to essential.
