What to Wear and Bring on a Side Quad Safari (Local Checklist)

Old dark clothes, closed shoes, a change of clothing and a towel — the full local packing checklist for our muddy, dusty Side quad safari, including what to leave at the hotel.

The One-Line Answer

Wear old, dark clothes and fully closed shoes, and pack a complete change of clothing plus a towel. That is the official advice we give every guest on our Side Quad ATV Safari, and it comes from watching thousands of riders come back off the track covered in mud, water and dust, grinning, but filthy.

What to Wear on the Quad

Clothes you don't mind ruining

Our forest track involves serious amounts of mud, water and dust, that is the whole point. Whatever you wear will get dirty, and some stains never fully come out. Leave the white linen at the hotel. An old T-shirt and old shorts or trousers, ideally in dark colours, are perfect. Many of our guests buy a cheap outfit at the Side market the day before purely to sacrifice it to the track.

Fully closed shoes: non-negotiable

Flip-flops and sandals do not work on an ATV. You need closed shoes that grip the footrests and protect your toes: old trainers are ideal. Like the clothes, expect them to take a beating.

Helmet: provided and mandatory

You do not need to bring any head protection. Helmets are strictly mandatory on every ride and are part of our safety setup, fitted before the briefing and test drive.

What to Pack in Your Bag

  • A complete change of clothes: this is on our official tour notes for a reason. You will want out of the muddy outfit the moment the engines stop.
  • A towel: our base has free showers and changing cabins, so you can wash off the mud and dust before the transfer back. Bring your own towel to make full use of them.
  • Sunglasses: the Antalya sun is strong and the track kicks up dust. If you prefer, purpose-made protective goggles are sold at our facility, but they are optional, not required.
  • A bandana or thin scarf, riders further back in the convoy appreciate something over the nose and mouth on dry, dusty days. Bandanas are also available to buy at the base.
  • Sunscreen, apply before you set off; you will be outdoors for the whole riding session.
  • A small amount of cash: the tour itself is pay-on-the-day, and food, drinks and any optional extras at the base are not included in the price.
  • ID for the driver, whoever is driving the quad needs to show ID at the base.

What to Leave at the Hotel

  • Anything white or precious, see above. Mud wins.
  • Expensive jewellery and watches, vibration, mud and water are not kind to them.
  • Your phone in your hand, keep it zipped away while riding. If you want riding footage, our media team offers professional photo and video as an optional extra, which is safer than filming one-handed on a moving ATV.

A Note on Glasses and Contact Lenses

Riders who wear prescription glasses manage fine under the helmet, but dust is the enemy: this is where the optional goggles earn their keep, as many fit over glasses. Contact lens wearers usually prefer sunglasses plus a bandana. Either way, pack your lens case or a cloth in your day bag.

Kids and Passengers: Same Rules, Smaller Sizes

Children joining as passengers get the same treatment: old dark clothes, closed shoes, a full change of clothing and a towel. If anything, pack a spare bag for their muddy things, young passengers seem to attract twice the mud of anyone else. For age rules and how the passenger seats work, see our first-timer and family guide.
